The Role

The Production Scheduler prepares, manages, and issues the production schedule for a high-volume, fastener-manufacturing facility. You will coordinate with several departments to ensure efficient utilization of resources and timely delivery of products while maintaining quality standards. You will report to the Production Control Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Review releases and forecasted demand for scheduling changes (862, 830, DELJIT, etc.) for scheduling updates

  • Develop and publish production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity for 3 shifts.

  • Adjust schedules to accommodate changes in production requirements or resource availability.

  • Communicate daily with customer service and production floor to resolve shortages

  • Create a daily focused list on critical parts to review with supervisors & team leads.

  • Generate jobs from wire and loose product.

  • Review overages in inventory and plan for consumption.

  • Coordinate with supervisors, team leads, engineers, and other stakeholders to prioritize production activities.

  • Participate in meetings to discuss production goals, and strategies for improvement.

  • Collaborate with QA personnel on material quality issues.

  • Manage and deliver rivet orders for Project Management

  • Make recommendations for personnel/machines to run on weekend, as required.

  • Investigate and reconcile WIP discrepancies.

  • Monitor and process required job closure transactions daily

  • Process inventory adjustments

  • Track and monitor metrics related to production control, lead the implementation of improvement actions

What we expect of you?

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in using ERP, MRP and other database software packages

  • Experience with production planning and scheduling, automotive industry preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.

  • Computer skills to include Windows and Microsoft Office applications, with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets

  • Punctual / Positive attitude / Team player / Proactive

  • Initiative-taker requiring limited supervision

EDUCATION OR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-Year College degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain Management or similar), or 4+ years of successful production planning experience in a manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (AS APPLICABLE):

  • Ability to move or lift up to 40lb occasionally.

  • Ability to utilize a PC up to 90% of workday.
