THE JOB:

The SHOW comes alive at MGM Resorts International. As a PBX Communication Operator, you will be responsible for setting the stage for an excellent guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding the guests' unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to createWOWmemories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.

THE STARTING RATE:$16.21

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Answers incoming telephone calls, connects calls to appropriate departments and hotel guests

  • Transfers incoming calls to appropriate staff on mobile units when approved

  • Logs and reports all telephone troubles and handles emergency repairs calls when necessary

  • Dispatches service requests as needed

  • Promotes and maintains the highest level of customer service to all guests while staying alert to their needs

  • Responds effectively to guest inquiries related to MGM Grand Detroit and the downtown Detroit area providing excellent guest service

  • Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to management. Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • 18 years of age or older

  • One year of Operator experience in hospitality or large public access

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Excellent guest service and hospitality skills

  • Strong problem solving and listening skills

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Bilingual abilities preferred

  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information

  • Ability to sit for long periods at a time

  • Ability to function and act independently.

  • Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively both written & oral

  • Ability to function in a fast paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
